The idea for I Love Sight Words began when author Karen Wells-Gradney was teaching her own daughter, Lorien, to read. At four years old, Lorien had her own unique way of learning, and Karen discovered that turning lessons into engaging experiences helped her daughter retain what she was learning while developing an enjoyment of reading. That experience inspired Karen to create a book that could bring the same sense of discovery to other children.
